I'm a middle school special education English Language Arts teacher in Texas. Since that effectively devours my time, I only have a bit of time to build in OpenSim, but then I scramble like mad during vacations. If you're a teacher, you know exactly what I mean.

A Life with History

I've been interested in history since I was able to start seeing it critically as an adult, but I've been reading romance novels about the Middle Ages since Mom started handing me novels that weren't too naughty for my pre-adolescent eyes.

The sixteenth century represents change, growth, challenge. Five centuries later, we can take a birds-eye view of it all, see how small things were part of the larger revolutionary change we call modernity.

I don't prefer the history of major players. They only think they're major. The real interesting part of history is looking at the rest of us. People then were as smart, clever, funny, sad, scared, and generally messed up as we are today. So in a way, we get a glimpse at our own lives as if we were suddenly dropped into a new world.
